Temperature is the amount of heat a location has, when something is lacking in temperature, it becomes colder. Temperature completely affects the climate, vegetation and the kinds of creatures that face it, as well as if you’re able to survive in that climate without any special gear.

There are 4 positive and 4 negative levels of temperature, with level 0 being average, Positive levels of temperature is when something gets hotter, while negative levels are temperature is when something gets colder.

Temperature is determined by the Biome and the GM’s decision, various abilities may also change the temperature of an area or an item to have these effects.

Ultra Cold

Ultra Cold is a state of temperature below -200 degrees Celsius. Creatures that remain in this temperature for extended periods of time with no protection or provisions cannot gain any benefits from restoring effects. They cannot gain any benefits from eating or drinking, and take 50 Frost damage every round. Upon entering this temperature, they become exhausted and must take an Endure action (DC 50%, increased by +25% every time taken until failure) every 10 minutes, on fail, they fall unconscious.

Extreme Cold

Extreme Cold is a state of temperature below -100 degrees Celsius. Creatures that remain in this temperature for extended periods of time with no protection or provisions cannot gain any benefits from restoring effects. They cannot gain any benefits from eating or drinking, and take 10 Nonlethal Frost damage every 10 minutes. Upon entering this temperature, they become tired and must take an Endure action (DC 50%, increased by +25% every time taken until failure) every 10 minutes, on fail, they become exhausted.

Severe Cold

Severe Cold is a state of temperature below -60 degrees Celsius. Creatures that remain in this temperature for extended periods of time with no protection or provisions cannot gain any benefits from restoring effects. They cannot gain any benefits from eating or drinking, and take 10 Nonlethal Frost damage per hour, they must take an Endure action (DC 20%, increased by +20% every time taken until failure) every 10 minutes, on fail, they become tired.

Moderate Cold

Moderate Cold is a state of temperature below 0 degrees Celsius. Creatures that remain in this temperature for extended periods of time with no protection or provisions have all restoring effects (e.g. HP, MP and SP) reduced by 50%, They must consume x2 the amount of saturation to fix their hunger, and they must take an Endure action (DC 20%, increased by +20% every time taken until failure) every hour, on fail, they become tired.

Average Temperature

This is the average temperature, there are no modifiers when remaining in this temperature.

Moderate Heat

Moderate Heat is a state of temperature above 30 degrees Celsius.

Severe Heat

Severe Heat is a state of temperature above 60 degrees Celsius. Creatures that remain in this temperature for extended periods of time with no protection or provisions cannot gain any benefits from restoring effects. They cannot gain any benefits from eating or drinking, and take 10 Nonlethal Fire damage per hour, they must take an Endure action (DC 20%, increased by +20% every time taken until failure) every 10 minutes, on fail, they become tired.
