The Heist is our first module ever released in the Metanoia Engine system. It’s designed to teach players and GM’s how to play and run the system respectively. Designed with a fully-detailed open world, optional sidequests, and multiple maps, it takes place on the city of New Port Hunding, an outpost just beyond the Sol System, and can be integrated with any pre-existing campaigns.

The premise is simple, you’re given a quest by a dealer, rob a Museum Auction in any way that you want to. You have to steal a Time Travel Device, and give it back to the dealer. Whether you give it back or not is entirely up to you.

Here’s a list of features of the module:

  • Three (3) different modes of the campaign. Demo, featuring only the main quest, Campaign, featuring multiple optional sidequests and additional endings, and Roguelike, featuring an entirely different arc added after the main game, and multiple endings and quests.
  • Four pre-made character build types, with diversity in choices and runs to create a unique and effective character quickly. Backstory options, plot hooks and names optional, but available!
  • Twenty different, randomised factions with unique mechanics to make every run completely different.
  • Three different routes that are seamlessly interchangeable with unique mechanics. Stealth, for the classic museum heist experience, Incognito, for those who like to be flashy, and Loud, for those who want to make some noise.
  • An entirely detailed museum with exhibits that players can explore and immerse themselves in to understand the lore of the universe.
  • Five different endings (in Demo mode) with multiple variations.
  • A full exploration of Metanoia Engine’s mechanics and what the system runs on best. You can approach the game in any route you want.
  • Easy to read and understand instructions for GM’s. Simply read the box for a scripted event.
