The atmosphere is what the air of a planet or domain generally has the primary makeup of, different atmospheres allow different kinds of creatures to thrive. Different organisms behave differently in different environments, likewise, different chemicals can be breathed in and cause certain effects when constantly inhaled. Atmospheres should be factored into account whilst travelling the universe.

Oxygen

A primarily oxygen atmosphere is generally non-poisonous to most lifeforms. Most places can exist in an oxygen-based atmosphere, and everything is relatively normal inside of these atmospheres.

Hydrogen

A Hydrogen based atmosphere is highly volatile, all Fire Damage in Hydrogen atmospheres deals double damage, and affects all creatures within a 3m radius of the attack, any attacks that deal fire damage and have a radius already add a +3m to their radius. Creatures that breathe oxygen cannot survive in Hydrogen based environments.

Helium

A Helium based atmosphere is incredibly light, all objects made of thin, light materials under 1kg immediately lift upwards at 5m per round. All thrown items and creatures travel at x4 the distance, but deal -50% damage. Everyones voice in a Helium atmosphere is of a very high pitch. All oxygen-based creatures breathing this atmosphere for longer then 10 minutes suffers 100 nonlethal poison damage per round, if they fall unconscious, they are at death’s door.

None

With an atmosphere that has no particles, there is nothing there to breathe in. Creatures that need to breathe cannot breathe in these conditions.

Argon

An argon based atmosphere is very dense and heavy. If you breathe in this atmosphere and are not designed to breathe in argon, you receive a -20% to your Agility, Senses and Nerves modifiers. You automatically fail against any illusions or abilities. You are always tired and confused.

Sodium

Sodium based atmospheres are very dense, appearing as thick clouds of fog when trying to wade through, all terrain in Sodium based atmospheres are considered difficult. Any exposure to oxygen or water in these atmospheres causes a 5m explosion from where the contact was made, dealing 1,000 (d10%) Explosive damage.

Carbon Dioxide

Carbon Dioxide based atmospheres cause planets to warm up substantially, all temperatures on the planet are increased by one step. All creatures breathing in this atmosphere receive 50 Acid damage per action that they are exposed to the atmosphere.

Methane

Methane based atmospheres are highly volatile and warm, all temperatures on the planet are increased by one step. All fire damage in this atmosphere is doubled in damage.

Arsenic

Arsenic based atmospheres are incredibly poisonous, upon taking a breath inside of an Arsenic based atmosphere, the target receives 1,000 (d10%) Poison damage. Every action made inside of this atmosphere without proper protection, the target receives an additional 1,000 (d10%) Poison damage.

Phosphorus

Phosphorus based atmospheres are highly reactive and dangerous. Any exposure to oxygen or water in these atmospheres causes a 5m explosion from where the contact was made, dealing 1,000 (d10%) Explosive damage.

Ethanol

Ethanol based atmospheres are highly intoxicating, while breathing in this atmosphere, you are always drunk.

Terrain

Terrain is important as this dictates how one can travel through it. Different terrains behave and perform differently when moved through.

Smooth

This terrain is simple to walk through, with no hindrance caused while walking through this terrain. Smooth terrain doesn’t necessarily mean it is smooth, but that it is easy to walk through, smooth terrain can be things such as grass.

Slippery

When moving on slippery terrain, the terrain typically allows the wearer to glide along, When moving in slippery terrain, you gain a -50% to all Agility actions. You move in one direction when you are moving in slippery terrain, but for every 1m moved in this terrain, you move 2m in that same direction. You can change the trajectory of this movement to another direction using a Balance action (DC 25, can change depending on how slippery), on fail, you are knocked prone.

Difficult

Difficult terrain is terrain that is not stable, it’s awkward and hazardous to typically walk through. Each 1m of movement performed in difficult terrain costs 2m of movement to move through.

Dangerous

Dangerous terrain is terrain that causes immense pain and damage while moving on it. Dangerous terrain can be multiple things, such as sharp rocks and other materials. Each 1m of movement performed in dangerous terrain costs 2m of movement to move through. Making any action in dangerous terrain e.g. movement deals 50 bludgeoning damage to whoever is in the terrain.

Fragile

Fragile terrain is terrain that is barely standing, with nothing supporting under it, when performing any action on fragile terrain e.g. movement, the terrain is no longer accessible, and anything on the terrain when inaccessible, immediately falls down until it hits another solid surface.
