Trolls are bulky, tall creatures that are widely feared for their regenerative capabilities. Living in small tribes amongst others, they are incredibly capable hunters that can survive fighting even the strongest of creatures. Highly sought after for their strengths and powers, these unstoppable killing machines are actually more passive and humble, focusing on living on the land, despite their more grotesque appearance.

Characteristics

Trolls have characteristically pointed ears that droop downwards, with a more furrier face, similar to that of an ape, and a pointed nose, with big, bushy eyebrows, and a relatively chiselled jaw. They have large hands, with elongated fingers and strong arms. Their skin can be a multitude of colours, but usually have a lot of body hair, with vibrant colours of any kind for their hair to be possible.

Trolls are generally survival focused, they are grounded and love the land with their utmost, having deep traditions and rituals to make sure their surroundings are safe and in good condition. They are generally quite savvy when it comes to understanding their environments and their residents inside of it, and generally making more friends with others

Native Environments

Trolls live in a lot of wilderness environments, most choosing to live alone, or living in very small groups with one another. They live in deep forests, bogs, caves and other locations where they can live off of the land. They’re known to keep and tend to amazing and large gardens, and tend to be extremely territorial and wary of them.

History

Trolls don’t have much of a written history, relying more on oral traditions created by themselves, such as song and storytelling. They have had multiple famines, wars and plagues, usually involving crows or scavenger birds circling them.

Society & Culture

Trolls live all by themselves, but they do hear the sounds from other trolls in nearby locations, with various songs and sounds heard from them, they communicate amongst the trees like birds with one another, singing out loud for others to hear them when they would like to be exposed.

Troll Racial Traits

Racial Modifiers – When not choosing a subrace, you gain a +10% to two ability scores of your choice.
Size – Troll range from Small, Medium and Large sizes.
Movement Speed – Troll move at 2m/TP
Languages Known – Troll start knowing Greedish, for every +5% Intellect Modifier they have, they may learn an additional language.

Major Traits

Superior Regeneration – Troll regenerate 100 HP per round, increasing their regen by +25 HP every level past 1, they automatically restore all severed limbs after 1 minute. Trolls choose any damage type that they are weak to, when they are attacked by this damage type, their regeneration stops working for 1 round. They cannot be sent to death’s door unless they are downed by their damage type or through silver weapons.
Booster **– Troll gain the ability to bolster one ability score of their choice by +50% for 1 minute, they may perform this ability an amount of times equal to their level.
**The Hunt
– Troll move at their normal movement speed while hiding, they gain a +25% bonus to all Stealth actions.

Minor Traits

Survivalist – Trolls gain double the amount of resources while foraging, scavenging, and harvesting resources. They are immune to all terrain effects and movement affecting abilities
Hypervigilance – Trolls are immune to being exposed directly by creatures.
Efficiency – Trolls perform all downtime tasks (e.g. crafting, building, drawing, etc.) at half of the time in comparison to other creatures.

Troll Subraces

Subraces are variants of the main race that change the abilities and aesthetic of the race, Subraces are not mandatory to choose, but you may only choose one subrace for your character.

Shamanist

Shamanist Trolls are trolls that have a deep connection with spirits, the occult and the spirit realm themselves, known to wear different kinds of bones, or wooden carvings of animal faces and masks, they connect with the world around them to gain guidance from those of the past.

Shamanist Racial Modifiers – Shamanist Troll gain a +10% Senses, +5% Nerve, and a -5% Fortitude
Witch Doctor – Shamanist Troll receive 3 Doctor perks of their choice at level 1, they gain a +50% potency bonus to all Doctor perks.
Spiritual – Shamanist Troll may use their MP and SP in place of their HP to use rituals. They are treated as if they are a rank higher then their current rank for the purpose of all rituals
Medium – Shamanist Troll can always speak with the dead, whenever using a Quick-Thinking Action, they may choose to speak with the dead instead, they can say up to five words to them, and the dead can choose to respond however they would like to.

Fuzzbod

Fuzzbod Trolls are known for their incredibly thick fur on their body. They have a more characteristically primal appearance, with two horns coming from their head, often seen more in cold terrain, they’re referred to as Yeti’s by some, and are fantastic at remaining hidden in the wilderness.

Fuzzbod Racial Modifiers – Fuzzbod Troll gain a +10% Muscle, +5% Fortitude, and a -5% Social
Fuzzy – Fuzzbod Troll are very fuzzy, they are immune to all temperature variations in heat, and are resistant to all Electric Damage.
Horned – Fuzzbod Troll gain 2 horns, these horns deal double the damage of normal horns and are treated as unarmed weapons.
Camouflage – Fuzzbod Trolls may spend 2 TP to camouflage themselves with the environment, they automatically succeed on all actions made to hide themselves in the wilderness from others while remaining completely still for 1 round. This ability only lasts until the Fuzzbod is seen.

Hag

Hag Trolls are known to be poisonous, with a more paler skin and a disfigured face, they are known to brew potions deep in their illustrious shacks, filled with multiple cursed and magical items, and are known for their cackles and shouts which can paralyse most others that get in their way.

Hag Racial Modifiers – Hag Troll gain a +10% Psyche, +5% Intellect, and a -5% Luck
Bogridden – Hag Troll can choose to make any attack they deal instead deal Poison damage. Hag Troll are immune to all Poison Damage, and instead restore 50 HP when they are attacked by it.
Hag Tears – Hag Troll can choose to cry for 2 TP, when crying, their tears automatically cause all creatures that come in contact with them to be affected with a poison similar to fear gas. Creatures cannot make a save against this. Hag Tears automatically become inert after 24 hours and inherently have no value.
Paralysing Shout – Hag Troll can shout for 2 TP, paralysing all targets within a 50m radius, all Targets must take a Confidence Action (DC 50 + 10 per level), on fail, the target is paralysed for 1 round. The Hag Troll may perform this ability an amount of times equal to their level per day.
