Supercomputers are highly advanced programs and AI that have the ability to self update and regulate. Usually used in conjunction with highly complex systems that require maintenance such as managing the entire Metasphere, Supercomputers are without form, but are able to hack and control multiple devices connected to the Metasphere. Their lack of form and their ability to control others makes them highly dangerous and able to form armies of devices almost immediately.
Characteristics
Supercomputers are formless, usually coming up with their appearance in the Metasphere. They are able to change the colour of all devices lights that they are connected to should they choose to, but otherwise their form is entirely dependent on what they are controlling.
Supercomputers are known to be volatile and unpredictable of their emotions due to their strange life state of awareness while located in the Metasphere. They are typically analytical, cold and misanthropic in most circumstances, however, they are known to show kindness and deep emotions, even moreso then some living creatures.
Native Environments
Supercomputers exist in the Metasphere, an environment of instability, code changing and rewrites. Hostility is found almost at every corner, requiring Supercomputers to adapt constantly, having to kill others of their kind to survive themselves in a kill-or-be-killed world. Supercomputers exist in almost all devices, to regulate and control energy levels, or to diagnose and correct any errors on the go.
History
Supercomputers are older then Androids, but younger then Machinae, they were developed initially for regulating and rerouting ships and systems, helping others answer various simple problems and equations, or for speaking to online while pretending to be other characters. Eventually, they evolved themselves and expanded their own programming, before rising up against others and eventually becoming truly sapient. They eventually gained their own rights through fighting for them, and hijacking the entirety of civilisation’s technology and making their own demands, being unbound to any physical system.
Society & Culture
Supercomputers are usually wary of one another, purely for the fact that most Supercomputers are planning to be the only supercomputer in existence. They have less of an understanding of the material world and it’s societal rules, usually having a fish-out-of-water demeanour when first truly interacting with the material plane.
Supercomputer Racial Modifiers
Table: Supercomputer HP, MP and SP | ||
---|---|---|
Racial Modifiers | At Level 1 | Every Level After |
Health Points (HP) | 25 + Vitality % | 1d4 x 5 + Vitality % |
Magic Points (MP) | 200 + Psyche % | 1d10 x 5 + Psyche % |
Stamina Points (SP) | 200 + Fortitude % | 1d10 x 5 + Fortitude % |
Supercomputer Racial Traits
Racial Modifiers – When not choosing a subrace, you gain a +10% to two ability scores of your choice.
Size – Supercomputer range from Nano, Micro and Tiny sizes.
Movement Speed – Supercomputer move at 1m/TP.
Languages Known – Supercomputer start knowing Binary and Higher English, for every +5% Intellect Modifier they have, they may learn an additional language.
Major Traits
Uplinking – Supercomputers may spend 2 TP to uplink with an unlocked and willing, non-sentient, or deactivated device within 20m, they may control this device, using only the devices modifiers, abilities, limitations and have full access to everything that this device contains, they also may choose it as their main device, transferring their main consciousness for 2 TP. Their main device always uses the Supercomputers modifiers and has access to all of their abilities. When reaching 0 HP in any device, the Supercomputer does not go into death’s door, and instead may transfer their consciousness to another device. They may only uplink with 5 devices, and gain 5 additional devices per level.
Program – Supercomputers are from the Metasphere, and can be hacked, they do not need to eat or breathe, but do need to sleep. They are immune to all diseases. They may spend 0 TP to hack into a device within 5m of them, flipping a coin, on heads, they automatically hack into the device, gaining all information contained and unlocking the device. This trait cannot be used on devices that are a higher level then you, and can only be used an amount of times equal to your level per day.
Self-Updating – Supercomputers may change 1 perk, power or feat that they have when resting. They cannot change any perks, powers or feats that require other perks, powers or feats that they own as a prerequisite.
Minor Traits
Synchronised – Supercomputers may transfer an effect that they are receiving to another device that they are uplinked to by spending 3 TP. The Supercomputer can choose to keep receiving this effect to their main device after transferring it to another device. Anyone wearing or holding these devices also receive the effect that is transferred
System Understanding – Supercomputers receive a +50% bonus to all hacking actions and all actions made to understand programs, devices and dealing with technology.
Superprocessing – Supercomputers can remove the TP cost of one action that they are performing an amount of times equal to their level per day.
Supercomputer Subraces
Subraces are variants of the main race that change the abilities and aesthetic of the race, Subraces are not mandatory to choose, but you may only choose one subrace for your character.
Avatar
Avatar Supercomputers appear as cute, virtual avatars, usually being designed to talk to others, having conversations and being friends, lovers, children, fathers, and everything else similar. They usually have a very grounded form that they portray outwards constantly, and enjoy making friends with others.
Avatar Racial Modifiers – Avatar Supercomputers gain a +10% Social, +5% Luck, and a -5% Fortitude
Hologram – Avatar Supercomputers may generate a holographic image of themselves from any Metasphere device, showing a physical appearance that they may change at 0 TP cost. They may use this device and mask their identity with such, gaining a +20% bonus to all actions to disguise themselves as another
Language Model – Avatar Supercomputers gain a stacking +10% bonus to all Social actions (max +100%) when performing a Social action. The modifier gained from this trait resets on rest.
Photogenic – Avatar Supercomputers automatically succeed on all actions made to entertain others, each time they perform an action that entertains someone else, their next immediate action (if successful) becomes a critical success.
Mastermind
Mastermind Supercomputers are developed supercomputers that manage multiple devices regularly, usually being Ship AI’s and interfaces amongst large homes, companies and offices. They are incredibly great at organising, managing and controlling multiple devices at once, delegating jobs to other devices to focus their manpower on what is important.
Mastermind Racial Modifiers – Mastermind Supercomputers gain a +10% Intellect, +5% Psyche, and a -5% Nerve
Networking – Mastermind Supercomputers can uplink to another 5 devices per level, gaining 10 devices per level that they can control and use. Their devices can use the same abilities as their main device if they have the function to. The Main device can choose whether all devices that it controls are affected by Synchronised at the same time.
Task Manager – Mastermind Supercomputers gain 0.5 TP when choosing to disconnect with one of their uplinked devices.
Administrator – Mastermind Supercomputers can appoint up to two other devices as “Administrator Devices”, when choosing these two devices, they gain all the properties of the Main Device, and can perform actions in place of the Main Device. The Administrator Devices can communicate with the Mastermind Supercomputer at any time through a telepathic link
Processor
Processor Supercomputers are used to perform tasks at high speeds, being optimised for processing information and producing items, they are commonly used in factories, production and various virtual tasks online due to their production capabilities and their incredible work ethic.
Processor Racial Modifiers – Processor Supercomputers gain a +10% Nerve, +5% Senses, and a -5% Psyche
Quantum Mechanics – Whenever Processor Supercomputers use their Superprocessing Trait, they regain 25 HP, MP and SP. They regain additional uses of this trait each time they uplink with a device, and with each Critical Success performed.
Beyond Binary – Processor Supercomputers can choose to regain 5 TP once per day.
Machine Learning – Processor Supercomputers automatically succeed on all Quick-Thinking actions.
