Living amongst many societies is the Parasite, a creature that is able to take over other’s bodies, controlling their brain and functions for their own purposes. Parasites exist in almost every civilisation, sticking to others ships and infiltrating societies that allow the unsuspecting ships entry. They are ultimately feared by most and are known for most ship graveyards seen amongst the universe due to their ability to completely wreck most fleets, operations and cause pestilence amongst societies.
Characteristics
Parasites appear in multiple shapes and sizes, usually appearing as a thick, bulbous worm, roughly the same shape as a human forearm, they can range in their appearance however, quite drastically, and usually have some sort of feature on them which allows them to latch onto others.
Parasites do not have a concentration or focus on developing much of a personality, focusing entirely on the survival of their own race, they are typically fairly deadpan, or mimicking the personality of the person that they have controlled. They learn most of how to interact with others through controlling others.
Native Environments
The origins of where a parasite is found is relatively unknown, however, they are mostly found inbetween the hull and cracks of ships, or when on land, they tend to live in bogs, or inbetween walls and small cracks.
History
Parasites have existed for a long period of time, said to be created due to a mishap made in a lab through genetic material splicing of various kinds of parasites in the hopes of making a super-parasite, and their exposure to radiation.
Society & Culture
Parasites do not live in society. They are ultimately seen as pests, something that needs to be destroyed due to their invasive nature. Most people do not take to them kindly, however, some are known to show them kindness, treating them as pets, when this is done to the right parasite, an unbreakable bond is formed, and they become amazing allies in any situation.
