Movement is extremely important while travelling and journeying in Metanoia Engine, as movement dictates everything, to how fast you’re travelling, to how close you are to an enemy. Movement plays a quintessential role in how your adventure is going to go.

There are three kinds of movement that dictate different things in Metanoia Engine. Combat movement, Combat Movement, which involves movement in combat, Local movement, which is combat out of combat, and land movement, which is travelling on land for a large journey. This section doesn’t necessarily cover any other kinds of movement, as each other section covers that type of movement.

Combat Movement

Combat Movement is the movement performed in combat. While in combat, a character can move at any time equal to their combat movement, once they have moved up to their combat movement, they have to wait for the next round to regain their Combat Movement.

Combat movement is normally used for getting into cover, moving around a battlefield or for trying to save others. If you use a vehicle in combat, divide the vehicles speed by 100.

Local Movement

Local Movement is similar to Combat movement, however, is how much you move in a town or a city. Local movement, like other movements, is assumed you aren’t under too much stress as a combat scenario, and is calculated equal to your Combat Movement x 10. Being the total speed you can explore the current local area in an hour. Local Movement typically uses Meters per hour.

Local movement rarely needs the use of vehicles, as vehicles move fairly fast and are more suited for planetary movement then local movement. However, if you were to use a vehicle in local movement, divide the speed of the vehicle by 10.

Local Movement mostly consists of Walking and Running, since vehicles are not really needed for Local Exploration.

Land Movement

Land Movement is typically reserved only for vehicles while travelling a large distance, maybe to another city or a new location. It is assumed you aren’t under too much stress from combat while using Land movement, it is calculated equal to your combat movement x 100. Being the total speed you can travel within an hour. Land movement typically uses Kilometres per second. Vehicles are recommended for travelling in Land Movement, as they cover much more distance then being on foot would.
